Matt Waterton
Matt is a keen sportsman and loves training and staying in shape. Adventure sports, the outdoors, travelling and meeting new people are just some of his passions.
Matt has spent the last 10 years specialising in training and coaching people to develop fitness and technique for winter sports. He was most recently responsible for instructing and coordinating the strength and conditioning programme for the Niseko International Snowsport School in Japan.
Matt joins us after building his own successful personal training company, Result Fitness in London where he helped numerous clients achieve a variety of health and fitness goals. Whilst in London Matt also spent time as a member of the Strength and Conditioning Team at Watford Football Club in London, and played a part in helping them in their battle to claim a place back in the premiership during the 2007/2008 season.
Getting the foundations right is the key to a successful fitness program according to Matt.
“I believe that the success of any fitness programme has to start from the inside out, healthy diet a positive attitude and a strong core are the building blocks for a healthy vibrant body. Get the foundations right and you can go on to achieve your goals, whether it be climbing a mountain, running a marathon or playing footy with your kids in the park. Forget about your bad habits and lets create some good ones!”

From Jesper Sjokvist…
Strength Coach, Watford Football Club
During the 2007-2008 season, Matt has assisted us at Watford Football Club in our strength and conditioning programme. Matt has proved to be a great asses to the club. He has showed good communication skills, creativity and knowledge in the area of strength and conditioning.
Matt is also a delightful person to be around and has demonstrated that he can interact successfully with professional athletes.
I would highly recommend Matt to anyone looking for a trainer/conditioning coach or for any future endeavours he decides to take on.
From Tariq…
“I have always taken my health and fitness seriously, but to be honest, even though I used to work out, I’ve never liked the gym. I guess what I really wanted was a workout that was enjoyable, taxing, functional and results oriented. That’s when I decided to hire a trainer and Matt in particular. There are a lot of trainers in London, but what made me hire Matt was his focus on core and functional training (I was convinced after seeing his Spiderman walk), after all big biceps and chests are pretty useless unless you have core strength.
Since I started training with Matt, twice a week from last August, I have dropped over 5% body fat and added 4-5kg of lean muscle mass. My overall strength, bench press and squats etc has increased by over 50%, and my core strength has rocketed…I can now do moves that were totally impossible for me 6 months ago. I have also developed a greater awareness of diet, technique and form. But this is just the start. With the variety that Matt throws in to the session boredom is not on the menu. He’s always there to push me to the next level.
The workouts with Matt are hard, really hard, make no mistake about that; I’m usually sore for 2 or 3 days afterwards, but it’s a good soreness…and even though I curse him the day after, I know and feel my body is becoming stronger and stronger from the core out. Hiring Matt is without doubt one of the best investments I have ever made.”
