Eat like a king at breakfast and your body will thank you for it!
It is often said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, yet I’m constantly surprised at the amount of clients I see who are trying to lose weight and have somehow gotten into the habit of skipping breakfast.
Hopefully this article will set a few things straight so that you can realise how important it is to start the day by giving your body the fuel it requires.
Kick start your body
Eating food within an hour of waking up is the perfect way to get kick start the natural fat burning processes that are essential for your body to stay healthy. By encouraging the digestive system to turn on early, your metabolism will remain elevated as you go about your daily tasks.
Slip in the good stuff!!
Breakfast is also an easy way to provide your body with many of the nutritional good stuff that will keep it going all day.
Here’s a list of things that you may like to eat in the morning.
Oats - full of complex carbohydrates for long lasting energy. High levels of fibre also mean they are great for digestion and can help in the prevention of heart disease, diabetes, colon cancer and obesity.
Natural yoghurt- great source of calcium as well as containing bio-live cultures that aid digestion and help keep stomach bugs at bay.
Blueberries - antioxidants have been shown to slow brain decline and reverse memory loss.
Raspberries - packed full of antioxidants with fibre, manganese and vitamin C to keep your brain and heart in top shape.
Mangoes - full of cancer preventing beta-carotene and vitamins A and C.
Eggs - protein to help your body recover after exercise
Spinach - full of iron and beta-carotene which will help mop up free radical damage.

Time for success
As I mentioned earlier, I am constantly encouraging my weight loss clients to start their day with a healthy breakfast.
And those that do always seem to find success.
By starting off the day with some healthy food you will be reaching those health and fitness goals in not time. Mid morning cravings will be kept at bay, and you will no longer feel the need to eat for 10 men when it comes to dinner time.
So go ahead and try it. Treat yourself like a king in the morning and you will soon be feeling like one too!
